16 years ago, in a small backyard in East Ottawa, 15 friends gathered to celebrate a birthday. It was the same weekend as the CHEO Telethon so a fishbowl was quickly passed around to collect some coins. After calling their donation in, Mike and Johnny decided that it was a great cause and a great BBQ so they vowed to make it an annual occasion.

The 3rd Annual CHEO OPEN was held June 20th at Casselview Golf and Country Club. This golf tournament was sold out! Guests enjoyed a day of golf and prizes at Casselview, and dinner and banquet at Jonny Canucks.
As always, all proceeds were donated to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. We raised $10,500 for CHEO!

We are a bunch of friends who enjoy the challenge of organizing major fundraising events... all for fun, and all to raise money for CHEO. We all have full time jobs and families to enjoy but are dedicated to helping out. We develop events from scratch, with each one of them having its own certain appeal.

The CHEO Spiel is a combination of Scatch's New Year's curling bonspiel and Johnny's endeavor to raise money for the kids at CHEO. The two ideas became one 4 years ago, and the fundraiser has been a great success. Now in our fourth year, and with a bright young committee on board, this little fundraiser will soon become a mainstay in the nation's capital and the coolest place to ring in the New Year.
Combining a Curling Bonspiel, the Patch, All Day Entertainment, and Prizes with a blow out New Year's Eve party is how we have raise funds for the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
